Noz has just entered North Star's adoption program ( Feb 24th ). GSDs are super dogs, but not all types are good for every situation. Noz comes from working lines with high drive and an intense need to work. Unfortunately, the breeder of Noz did not inform his family that such a GSD is not going to hang out on the couch all day and be happy with a walk or two or a car ride. But fortunately, for Noz, his loving family did discover that he has talents. He had a game he played with their boy. It was called "Find Him". Their boy would go outside and hide while Noz waited inside. Then Noz would be set loose with the "Find Him" command. The President of North Star witnessed the keen searching/scenting technique of Noz. What would Noz be capable of if he was actually trained?! Most of the GSDs that come through North Star are your basic family-pet type. This is not who Noz is. He is a working dog. He needs a job. We would like him to find his human partner in one who is active in Search & Rescue. Noz's previous family loved him very much. It was difficult for them to give him up for adoption. It is only for his well-being and happiness that they did. Over the next few weeks we will get to know more about this big guy and add updates, ( and photos ). Please, apply only if you are looking for an intense working-GSD. Noz deserves a permanent home where he can fit in. His birthday is in June. He will be five years old this year, 2008.
